week 5

social media is such an influential way to find out about the world around you, and what you do with that information, is up to you.
I really like Social media because it has so many positive stories and ideas. Just the other day I came across a story out of Wilmington, NC. It was about how Codington Elementary school and an organization called 101 Mobility, helped create Halloween customs for exceptional needs students. 101 Mobility spent a month creating custom Halloween outfits for kids with special needs. 101 Mobility believes every child should have the opportunity to dress up and be a kid, despite their special needs.
This video was great because it shows that we as people can make a difference, all it takes is some creativity. I loved seeing all the kids really enjoying their awesome costumes, which were made to adapt to their needs.     My favorite was a kid dressed as a pirate and his wheelchair was the ship.
One thing I can take from this is, as educators we need to make each student needs a priority. By using Social media one can not only get inspired but can find out ways they can make a difference in their students’ lives.
